Cleaning Services Stony Plain Old Grease, New Dust
We are an Edmonton crew that drives out to Stony Plain, west on Highway 16A. Most people searching for cleaning services in Stony Plain are at a handover: keys going back at the end of a tenancy, or a house that has to show well while it sits on the market. Owners in Westerra book us. So do landlords with a secondary suite near Old Town. Same crew, same checklist, price agreed before we drive.
Cleaning services in Stony Plain: two halves of one town
Stony Plain splits almost down the middle. Of the 7,135 occupied dwellings counted in 2021, 51.5 per cent went up in 2001 or later, while 32.8 per cent date to 1990 or earlier, with 18 per cent of the entire stock built between 1961 and 1980. Those halves are not the same clean. In the older ring and around Old Town the work sits in the kitchen: range hood, oven door glass, the cabinet faces above the stove, three or four decades of cooking film baked on. In a newer handover the kitchen has barely been used and the enemy is construction residue, drywall dust packed into window tracks and closet rails, adhesive left on appliance glass. We ask the build year before quoting, because that number moves the price further than square footage does.
Where the 2025 permits actually landed
The Town issued 125 new residential dwelling permits in 2025 and they were not spread evenly. South Creek took 42, a third of the town's new houses. Fairways North took 28, out by the golf course on streets like Augusta Fairway Crescent. Genesis on the Lakes took 19, Westerra 15, and the Brickyard at Old Town 12. The Brickyard is the strange one, new construction a few blocks from the heritage storefronts and murals of 50 Street, so a first-occupancy clean and a kitchen cooked in since the 1970s sit a short walk apart. Willow Park, Sun Meadows and Woodlands barely take a new house permit. What they take is renovation. Alterations and additions climbed 18 per cent, to 245 permits, and a finished basement sheds fine dust through the rest of the house for weeks after the trades leave.
Highway 779, the CN line and possession day
We come in from Edmonton, and Stony Plain sits about 17 kilometres west of the city, so the drive is part of the booking. The last leg is Highway 16A or Highway 779. Highway 779 becomes 48 Street inside town, crosses the CN line at grade, and has been through repeated reconstruction and closure. Fifty Street crosses the same rail line. The Town posts each lane closure as it goes up, and in 2026 they have landed on Westerra Drive, South Park Drive, Veterans Boulevard, 50 Street and 44 Avenue. Hiring a Stony Plain cleaning company from a jobsite phone, with nobody at the property, is ordinary here. Only 31.5 per cent of working residents with a usual workplace work inside the town, 92.5 per cent of commuters drive, and a third of them leave before 7 a.m.
A market where the house has to show
Resale has cooled. A realtor report compiled from REALTORS Association of Edmonton data shows 47 homes sold in Stony Plain in April 2026 at an average of $380,000, with 72 days on market against 34 a year earlier. Houses are sitting. New construction is a separate and stronger market: 33 new-build sales year to date at an average of $538,850, up from $464,383 the year before. A move-out clean before the listing photos costs less than the first price cut. On the rental side, 1,925 of the town's 7,135 households rent, and each of those tenancies ends in a written inspection report and a conversation about a deposit. Turnover is the figure that matters to us. In 2021, 45.8 per cent of residents had moved within the previous five years and 15.1 per cent within the previous twelve months.

Are you a Stony Plain company or an Edmonton one?
Edmonton, and we will not pretend otherwise. We have no office, no address and no staff in Stony Plain. We are a crew that drives out, roughly 17 kilometres west of Edmonton, and we build that run into the start time. If you want a Stony Plain cleaning company with a shop on 50 Street, that is not us. What you get instead is a crew that arrives in time for the walkthrough.
Highway 779 is torn up again. Will you still make my possession time?
That is the right question to ask here, and it is why we check closures before we commit to a time rather than after. Highway 779 is 48 Street through town and it crosses the CN line at grade. Fifty Street crosses the same rail line. We read the Town's construction notices before we load the truck, route around whatever is shut, and book against your walkthrough time, not a vague four-hour window.
Should the clean happen before or after the move-out inspection?
Before, without exception. Alberta's Residential Tenancies Act requires a written inspection report completed within one week before or after the tenant gives up the property, and a landlord may proceed without you if two inspection times were offered on two different non-holiday days between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. In a town where a third of commuters leave for work before 7 a.m., those windows land badly. Get the clean done ahead of the report, because the report is what any deposit deduction has to stand on.
